Getting Started

How do I create my first contract?

From your dashboard, click 'New Contract' in the top right corner. You can either choose from our library of templates designed for African businesses, or start with a blank document. Add your contract details, specify the signers, customize the signing order if needed, and click 'Send for Signature'. Your recipients will receive an email with a secure link to review and sign.

How long does it take to set up my account?

You can be up and running in under 5 minutes. Simply sign up with your email, verify your account, add your company details, and you're ready to send your first contract. We recommend also uploading your company logo and setting up your email preferences for a more professional experience.

Can I import existing contracts into Baseflow?

Yes! You can upload existing PDF documents to Baseflow. Once uploaded, you can add signature fields, text fields, and other interactive elements. This is great for digitizing your existing paper-based processes.

Are Baseflow e-signatures legally binding?

Yes, absolutely. Baseflow e-signatures are legally binding and compliant with major e-signature regulations including the US ESIGN Act, UETA, EU eIDAS regulation, and local laws in Nigeria (NIMC Act), Kenya (Kenya Information and Communications Act), South Africa (ECT Act), and Ghana (Electronic Transactions Act). Each signature includes a comprehensive audit trail for legal validity.

Can recipients sign without creating an account?

Yes. Signers simply click the secure link in their email to access the document. They can review, sign, and download a copy without needing to create an account or install any software. The signing process works on any device - desktop, tablet, or mobile.

How do I set up a signing order?

When adding signers to your contract, you can enable 'Sequential Signing' to require signatures in a specific order. Simply drag and drop signers to arrange them in your preferred sequence. Each signer will only be notified when it's their turn to sign.

Can I send reminders to signers who haven't signed?

Yes. Baseflow automatically sends reminder emails based on your preferences. You can also manually send a reminder at any time from the contract details page by clicking 'Send Reminder'. Premium plans include customizable reminder schedules.

What happens after everyone signs?

Once all parties have signed, Baseflow automatically sends a completed copy to everyone involved. The final document includes a certificate of completion with the audit trail showing who signed, when, and from where (IP address). All signed documents are securely stored in your Baseflow account.

Team & Collaboration

How do I add team members?

Navigate to Settings > Team from your dashboard. Click 'Invite Member', enter their email address, and select their role (Admin, Manager, or Member). They'll receive an email invitation to join your workspace. You can manage permissions and access levels at any time.

What are the different team roles?

Baseflow offers three roles: Admin (full access to all features, billing, and team management), Manager (can create and manage contracts, view team activity, but no billing access), and Member (can create and manage their own contracts only). Custom roles are available on Enterprise plans.

Can I create departments or groups?

Yes. On Team and Business plans, you can organize team members into departments. This helps with reporting, permissions, and workflow management. Each department can have its own templates, branding, and approval workflows.

Billing & Pricing

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept card payments (Visa, Mastercard, Verve) through Paystack and Flutterwave. This includes support for local payment methods in Nigeria (bank transfer, USSD), Ghana (Mobile Money), Kenya (M-Pesa), and South Africa (instant EFT). Enterprise customers can also pay via invoice.

Can I change my plan at any time?

Yes. You can upgrade your plan at any time and the change takes effect immediately. When downgrading, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You'll never lose access to your existing contracts.

What happens if I exceed my plan limits?

We'll notify you when you're approaching your monthly contract limit. If you exceed the limit, you can either upgrade your plan or wait until the next billing cycle. We won't charge you unexpectedly - you'll always have the option to choose how to proceed.

Do you offer discounts for NGOs or startups?

Yes! We offer special pricing for registered non-profits, NGOs, educational institutions, and early-stage startups. Contact us at [email protected] with proof of eligibility to learn more about our discount programs.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel anytime from Settings > Billing. You'll keep full access until the end of your current billing period. Your contracts and data remain accessible even after cancellation, though you won't be able to send new contracts on a paid plan.

Security & Privacy

How secure is Baseflow?

Security is our top priority. Baseflow uses bank-level 256-bit SSL encryption for all data in transit, AES-256 encryption for data at rest, and is hosted on SOC 2 Type II compliant infrastructure. We conduct regular security audits and penetration testing.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored in secure, SOC 2 compliant data centers. For African customers, we offer data residency options in South Africa and Nigeria to comply with local data protection regulations like Nigeria's NDPR and South Africa's POPIA.

Can I enable two-factor authentication?

Yes, and we highly recommend it. You can enable 2FA in Settings > Security. We support authenticator apps (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.) and SMS verification for supported regions.
